Session 19: The Heroes Return
General Summary
The party made their way back to the bustling city of Idwala, only to discover a troubling mystery: Solomon had vanished, leaving behind nothing but his helmet.
Looking for a place to discuss this strange turn of events, they stumbled upon the lively Cactus Coffee Shop, where two wizards were deep in a complex game of wizard’s chess. One wizard bore the emblem of a rose wreathed in thorns, representing a guild unfamiliar to the party. The other was clearly a member of the prestigious Sunstone Academy. Mina, curious and always eager to learn, attempted to trade spells with them, but her request was swiftly dismissed. The rejection seemed to irritate the wizard of the wreathed Rose academy, who took note of the Sunstone wizard’s brusque behavior.
As the group enjoyed their caffeinated cocktails, Mina may have overindulged in her drinks, loosening her tongue. She revealed a critical piece of information: Solomon had apparently struck a deal with her uncle, Bagaroy. Bagaroy currently resides in Carceri, the dread prison plane of the Jailer, where the universe's worst criminals are kept under lock and key. The conversation turned to the idea of collecting soul coins—an endeavor that might one day allow them to barter for Solomon's soul. However, before they could discuss this plan in depth, Mina mentioned a curious detail about Bagaroy's Secretary: a figure with pink hair and gray feathers, who had left Mina one of her feathers as a calling card.
Once their discussions concluded, the party returned to the Radain Ranch, where they encountered Bliyon, a Tabaxi scout from the Xu Han Kitsunes. Bliyon seemed highly intrigued by the party and their recent feats, observing them with keen interest.
Following this brief encounter, the group met with Vat Zudros, the formidable leader of the Radain Rhinos. Vat brought exciting news: the Adventurers Echo and the Daring Digest had both featured the party's achievements. Their efforts had not gone unnoticed, and their heroic deeds had boosted their popularity with the public. Vat explained that while unsanctioned missions often increased their favor among the people, they contributed less to official point tallies compared to sanctioned quests.
Vat also mentioned a new trade request from the Xu Han Kitsunes, but due to the party's stellar work with the public, the Rhinos had decided to retain them for now. However, he voiced his concern about the team's stability. After two major missions, they had already lost two core members—one to death and another who had abandoned the post. As a result, Vat encouraged the party to consider recruiting a replacement, suggesting that starting close would project a sense of unity and strength.
While in Vat’s office, the party took note of the Rhinos' history, seeing plaques and records that displayed only one six-star grand adventurer title achieved throughout the years. Vat also pointed out that having a party name would be beneficial. Currently, they were known only as the "Radain Rookie A Team," which paled in comparison to the catchy and well-established names of other adventuring groups in the league.
Before wrapping up, Vat handed them a list of new quest options. The opportunities included:
Tridar Stormstep’s Lost Treasure
A legendary trove still hidden somewhere under the sea. Missing Megal
A mysterious disappearance of Aref Megal.
The Mayor of Thistleholt’s Goblin Problem
A plea for help to address a growing menace.
With decisions looming and a team name to contemplate, the party prepared for the next chapter in their adventure, determined to prove themselves and carve out a lasting legacy.
