The Blackhand

History

The Black Hand wasn't born of grand ambition, but honest toil. Our founders were hardworking folk, burdened by a greedy noble who squeezed them dry with taxes. Soot from their labor stained their hands black, a symbol of their hardship. In defiance, they smuggled their crafts directly to customers, bypassing the thieving noble. This act of rebellion sparked a movement. The Black Hand rose from the ashes of exploitation, a symbol of workers taking back their due. Over time, we've grown from simple smugglers to a comprehensive network that caters to the discreet needs of Ararim's citizens.

Objectives

Profit: Coin is king, Raven. We provide discreet services for a premium. Smuggling exotic goods, enforcing contracts with a persuasive touch, and high-value retrievals (let's call them "ransoms") are our bread and butter.   Secrecy: Shadows are our cloak. The Black Hand thrives on discretion. We operate unseen by the self-proclaimed guardians of Ararim. A satisfied customer, one who never needs to speak our name, is our best advertisement.   Strength: A single crow is easily scattered. A flock is a force to be reckoned with. We protect our own. The Black Hand fosters a network of informants, safehouses, and muscle to ensure our continued operation.

Uniform or Symbols

The Black Hand Tattoo: A mark of membership and shared purpose. Our symbol, a clenched black hand, adorns a discreet location on a member's body. It's a badge of honour, a reminder of our history, and a warning to those who would oppose us. Consider your placement carefully, Raven. It should be easily concealed for everyday tasks, but readily displayed amongst kin. We have no set uniform. Discretion is key. Blend in, Raven. Appear to be a simple labourer, a charming rogue, or a scholarly sage, depending on the task at hand.
