The Treaty of Wheat and Whet

Purpose

Marked as a continuing show of good faith and peace between the lord/lady of Brouster and the council of Dwarves.
The document aids in trade agreements, defusing political tension, boarder crossings, and information sharing to name a few.

Marriage between Territories


It is binding that one lord or lady of a noble lineage of Brouster must wed a lady of the mountain
Both must be pure of heart and body - not previously married or of wedlock and intact
The lady of the mountain may not be older than thirty years of age nor the noble-born Broustern be over twenty-five
Under the power of this document should the Broustern noble pass before their dwarven bride, the widow is restored their former dwarven title and renounce any claim on Broustern land or title, they like all dwarves will be welcomed on Broustern soil
 

Conditions of trade


The dwarves agree to not raise ore export pridces beyond 42% of base extraction value
Brousterns agree to a tariff no greater than 35% on all dwarven imports
Brousterns agree to export of livestock, grain and leather with an export price under 45% of production value
The dwarves agree to a tariff no greater than 35% on all Broustern imports
 

Ceremonial Exchange


On the tenth day of the third month of the year a nobleman of the mountain must provide three ingots of their finest steel and a nobleman of the plains must provide 3 bags of their best grain. At this ceremony it is custom to hold a feast and tourney in honour of the long standing alliance between the two cultures.

Caveats

Should a marriage between the two factions not occur within a five-year period and both factions have a suitor of age then the trade agreement is canceled until a new line is established.
The suitor from Brouster must be taller than their dwarven counterpart
The steel ingots must be of dwarven make and forged in dwarven forges
The grain provided must be from the lands held within the titles of Brouster

Historical Details

Background

A wise dwarf of the mountain named Telgoren Mithmaester challenged Borgus of Brouster to a jousting match. Both parties enjoyed the match and tourney so they decided to further bind their relationship together through this agreement.

History

The first agreement of this pact was Borgus' second-born son was to marry a lady of the mountain and a son or daughter of the plains is to wed a daughter of the mountain here forth for every passing generation.

This agreement has historically been seen as good for the prosperity of both parties and their people.
