Caesar Ninian Darknoll
The former leader of the Tree-Wrights in Arbor, his stewardship of the position was an odd one though none would ever doubt his talent. He would consider his greatest accomplishment not some, thing he made or great building he oversaw, but instead the fostering of his adopted daughter Dahlia Darknoll.
"As I step down from my position, I entrust the future of our guild to my daughter, who sees the magic in the tree in a way that no one else can. Her unique perspective and unmatched talent make her the perfect successor to lead the guild of Tree-Wrights. I am proud of all my children, both those who share my blood and those who share my love, for their devotion to each other and our craft. Like the branches of a tree, we are all connected, and together we will continue to shape the world around us with our hands and our hearts." - Caesar Ninian Darknoll
Appearance
By the time most would know of him Caesar was an exceptionally tall and wiry old Beastkin scaled man, his hands were those of a craftsmen worn and cracked with the signs of a hundred hammer blows and saw pulls. He would often be seen wearing long pants with suspenders and plain white t-shirt despite his status as one of the most wealthy people in the city. In addition at his hip was always his toolbelt not an overly fancy one but one of modest design and extremely functional. If one did not know any better there would have been doubts about this old man and his station. It was his eyes though that gave much away, his piercing slitte blue eyes with what appeared to be centuries of wisdom were a strong tell that this man was of considerable means.Personality
Caesar was known for his complex and nuanced personality, which incorporated both his privileged background and his humble nature. Despite his wealth and social status, Caesar was widely regarded as a humble and unassuming person, who did not flaunt his success or seek attention for himself. He was respected by many in his community for his wisdom, his honesty, and his integrity. One of Caesar's defining traits was his capacity for love and compassion. He was known to care deeply about those closest to him, and was willing to go to great lengths to support and protect them. This was exemplified by his decision to adopt a young girl named Dahlia, who showed exceptional talent in seeing the magic in the great tree at the heart of Arbor. Caesar was patient and understanding in dealing with Dahlia's challenges, and was able to help her thrive under his guidance. Caesar was also a highly skilled craftsman, who was widely regarded as one of the most talented and knowledgeable Tree-Wrights in the city of Arbor. He was open-minded and innovative in his approach to woodworking, and was always willing to learn from others and share his knowledge with those around him. His legacy as a master craftsman, a devoted father and mentor, and a humble and compassionate person continues to inspire and influence the people of Arbor to this day. Caesar was also highly amused by pranks and trickery and several of his creations were trick puzzle boxes and devious little designs. His most famous act of trickery though was tricking the ruling council of the Tree-Wrights into appointing his daughter as their new leader. Background
Caesar comes from the the Darknoll family, as such he has considerable wealth at this disposal and has had so from a young age. Caesar though is a bit of an black sheep preferring to spend much of his inheritance in charity work bettering the lives of those less fortunate than himself. He was expected to join the Tree-Wrights and at young age was still much under the thumb of his parents and so did so without question, luckily for everyone involved Caesar thrived in the vocation and had a real talent for wood working that few could match. Sometime in his early life he met and fell in love with a young servant of his parents, and while his parents initially forbid the relationship and even suggested that the only way they could be together was if he was the head Tree-Wright Caesar only took this as a challenge and in a few short years had accomplished two goals, he was the leader and he was married. His relationship was one of love and inspired much poetry and plays from throughout Arbor though it was not to last and she passed after giving birth to their second child. Caesar mourned her for a time and it's said that this is what spurned him to begin more of his charity work as his wife had made him promise not to forget where she had come from. That those who were less fortunate were still of value and deserved as much of a chance as anyone. In his later years it was during one of these charitable outreaches that Caesar came into contact with Dahlia, when he returned with her his other two children were hesitant at first to include her in the family though eventually they were a single cohesive unit. Caesar was patient with her and eventually passed the torch of leadership to her after tricking the leadership of the Tree-Wrights into it. These days he is retired though still does some small work of carpentry when he feels like it.Relationships
