Bramblespikes

The Bramblespikes are formidable creatures of the magical forest a kin of the common hedgehogs but grown to a much larger size. They stand on four stout legs and are nearly 2 metres tall when fully grown. Their heads are pointed with a long, powerful nose, their faces have small black eyes and soft round ears on top of their head
Their bodies are covered in thick, interwoven spines resembling twisted brambles, which serve both as a natural defence and camouflage, blending perfectly into the undergrowth. The spines are not just static; they can bristle and extend like living thorns when the Bramblespike feels threatened, making it nearly impossible for predators to approach.
Their fur beneath the spines is dark green and brown, mimicking the forest floor, and their eyes are a deep amber.
Bramblespines are slow-moving but incredibly strong, capable of uprooting trees and pulling heavy loads. Despite their size and intimidating appearance, Bramblespikes are herbivores, feeding on mushrooms and roots.
Bramblespikes are revered by many forest-dwelling species for their role as protectors of the deep woods. Their sharp quills, infused with latent forest magic, can sometimes fall off and be used by others to craft potent charms or weapons.
They are solitary, often found wandering the dense, mist-shrouded parts of the forest, and their deep, rumbling calls can be heard resonating through the trees like a low thunder.
While generally peaceful, if a Bramblespike is angered or its territory threatened, it becomes a force of nature, charging through the forest like a living storm of thorns and fury, with its bristles extending outward to impale anything in its path.
