Double Meanings
This has nothing to do with what people usually think of when they hear "double meanings" which is sexual innuendo, though it could still be used for such things but is typically seen as unnecessary by the users of this code. Double Meanings in this instance is the coded language of a criminal organisation called Hidden Hands.
It was developed over time as the specialised thieves' cant of the Hidden Hands. The concept is simple but it can take quite some time to learn all of the nuances that exist within the code, though for a surface level conversation or transaction there is no need to know all of them in depth. To anyone listening in on the conversation it would sound like normal Euhukoan Common, albeit with an odd turn of phrase here and there. Some parts of the code are entire sentences that mean one thing in Euhukoan Common and an entirely different thing to those who know Double Meanings.
These coded sentences that can be easily learned from memorisation are actually a bit of a red herring for any outsider that has suspicions and that is trying to figure out what they are saying. The actual code of Double Meanings come from things such as switching the placements of words in sentences, making it sound like just a mistake to anyone not in the know. There are also subtle gestures or body language cues combined with certain words that again change the meaning of them. Clicks of the tongue, what looks like nervous tics such as touching different parts of their ears or face are all part of Double Meanings. Crossing their arms or tapping their fingers against their arm or thigh in combination with that they are saying can once again entirely change the meaning.
A lot of low level members of Hidden Hands struggle with Double Meanings and often it is the only reason why a member can't advance to a higher status in the organisation. It may seem unfair that the ability to remember such subtle body cues and what they mean in combination with certain words is what decides if a person can succeed, but no one has ever accused the criminal organisation Hidden Hands of being fair.
