The Four Dragons made their way to the spider cave by Aon's teleportation spell. Once inside, they had a quite brief fight against Bonny, Kira and a few undead. Aon used the spell hold person very effectively and they managed to tie up both Kira and Bonny before they could do much damage. But as they tried to carry Kira with them, she started screaming in agony and something burst out of the back of her head. A tiny creature with long hair-like tendrils with sparks of energy running up and down them. Segments of bone, like rings around its tiny body for protection and a long needle thin stinger stood out with their off-white colour against its otherwise flesh coloured body. It also had a mouth full of sharp fangs.

The creature managed to get a few hits in before they killed it, after which it exploded and covered Noa and Sonata in acidic goo.   Kira was most definitely dead, a hole through the back of her skull which revealed her brain. Chloe managed to bring her back to life with a resurrection spell, taking a lot out of the both of them. Kira, supported by Bonny, made her way over the creature's body and uncovered an old leather bound book that she had buried in the dirt against the wall of the cave.   They went back to the mansion in Sandholm with the help of Aon's teleportation circle and there Kira explained that her family had been long tasked to guard this book but her parents had gotten into shady stuff and intended to find a way to read the book, so she decided to steal it along with some other magic items in her family's possession. As a young girl she fled from her home on the continent Votrura and got onto a boat to Aporea, eventually ending up in Sandholm.   She had thought that now that she had power and resources she could decipher the book and find a way to permanently destroy it without being corrupted by it. In doing so she created some kind of link or portal between the book and her mind and the creature must have come through somehow. She also said that the instances where it had seemed like she had control, asking Bonny to kill her or asking for help in the letter, were the only times that she had no control at all and the creature had taken over. She had no idea why or what its motives were.   Chloe made a drawing of the creature and gave it to Headmaster Wenna of the mage tower. She also informed Enna that they had caught Kira and she had been altered by the strange brain worm.   A bit later parts of the royal guard came and took Kira and Bonny into custody. Aon and Noa's grandfather, Roderick, was in charge and he promised to be as kind to Kira and Bonny as he could be in the circumstances.
