The group (including Yelro and Demetrius) hired a keelboat captain named Ed to take them out on the lake to continue their search for portals. Later in the day when they were far out on the lake a strange storm began. First a loud clap of thunder deafened most of the group. Then acidic rain began to fall, followed by six lightning bolts striking most of the people on the boat. After which large hail began to fall and lastly strong winds and freezing rain assailed the boat. All of it took place during a minute and the group remained deafened for four more minutes afterwards.

Then, as they were still reeling from this experience, the huge wave they had fought the previous day got onto the boat. They engaged in a difficult battle but were ultimately victorious. The huge wave lost whatever was keeping it together and spilled out over the deck and over the sides as nothing but water.
