Micro-Climates, Ice Age
... seek the calm at the inner eye and you will find a refuge from the Storms.
Micro-climates are a unique ecosystem that develops inside of a larger Macro-system. An ecosystem within an ecosystem, these localized regions are characterized by their contrasting properties to the larger domain that they inhabit. Inside, specialized forms of Life evolve, making Micro-Climates rich biomes full of wondrous Life-forms. Conservation efforts are often focused on preserving the diversity of these Micro-Climates.
Small pockets appear within greater regions often through natural formations. Cold lakes form an oasis in arid regions whereas thermal vents bring warmth to a cold desert. A small Island in the ocean or coral reef; a cavern in a mountainside or volcano; a river valley or marshy mangroves, each hold potential Micro-Climates. Omphalos are often categorized as Micro-Climates, as the magical energies that create them often affect their environment.

Hot Zones- Ice Age
In the Ice Age, heat and warmth was a valuable resource for all inhabitants of Pathon. Life struggled through an Age of frozen wastes, finding Micro-Climates where they could thrive. The following is a list of Hot Regions of ancient Pathon:(TBD}
Calm Zones- Ice Age
Around the central domain of Mystomythia, the Superconinent, Micro-Climates appear near the coasts and geothermal ranges that promoted many of the early mammalian forms of Life. The following is a list of Temperate Regions of ancient Pathon:(TBG}
Cold Zones- Ice Age
Unforgiving frozen regions dominated the early landscape until the Thunders Age. Glaciers and steppes, cold deserts, and barren tundra often hid secret alcoves of protective shelter. The following is a list of Cold Regions of ancient Pathon:(TBD}.
