Snow Globe
... captured snow within a globe's glassy confines reveals hidden objects within!
"Don't shake it."
A Snow Globe is an unusual relic from the Mythic Epoch's Ice Age. Though it was once widely used by the Mythos Folk, it fell out of use when it's powerful binding magic was used against the Clans.
A Snow Globe comes in a few varieties, modified by its appearance and size. Small Snow Globes are personal, and carry a limited amount of weight within, whereas a Medium Snow Globe may yield a heavier carrying capacity. Giant Snow Globes have never been discovered, but they have been referenced in legends.

The original purpose was to provide protective shelter during Ice Age storms or other natural disasters. By placing one's hands upon it's smooth, chilly surface, one is transported inside the orb.
A Pure Snow Globe is a bi-way; you can enter and exit the Snow Globe with knowledge of the Mythos Folk magic. A Dark Snow Globe is a one-way portal. Once you're inside, you must be specially attuned to the Snow Globe to use it as a bi-way. It became a means of imprisonment for feral, wild Giants or other Mythos Folk.

Legends & Myths
"The construction of the Snow Globe has been lost to time. These were intended to be used as tools to transport caravans of Mythos Folk through the icy tundras. They could survive harsh winters within these magical domeciles. There are legends of Giant Snow Globes that were used to imprison large beasts of that era. Oh, to find something like that...

When the storms of the Ice and Calamitous Age wracked the collective Mythos Folk (Myst & Myth Folk), their Diviners were given directions to build a mighty vessel, known as the Nevrasenephr; a glacial Ark constructed of Blue Ice harvested from around the world.
To transport large communities of the Mythos Folk, Snow Globes were employed. These orbs were able to collect large groups and safely move them out of harm's way. Many legends tell of the Nevrasenephr appearing within a blanket of fog, right on time to rally their people to safety.
There is another Myth surrounding the use of the orbs which suggests those trapped within become one with the Ice inevitably; this is thought to be why no skeletal records have ever been recovered from Snow Globes. It is true that caches of Blue Ice form within the radius of the Snow Globe. Another legend is that there is a Snow Globe with a vast land contained within, but this hasn't been proven either.

Measurements
"Units" are measurements, defined by length, width, and weight. A whole Unit is denoted with an "Un" and represents 1 whole measured "Unit" (equivalent to the average length of a forearm). A "Micro-Unit" is denoted with a "Um" in measurements and is the size of an index finger bone. 10 Micro-Units make 1 Un. To measure weight, Unit Burden is calculated relative to the weight of an adult fist. Total Units are measured using decimals.

Author's Notes
The Snow Globe is my little twist on the conventional item! Imagine picking up a snow-globe that had a living community inside! Like Bub Stubbs said, "Don't shake it!" To that note, I don't think that'd harm the inside, but it's pretty solid advice no less.
I didn't discuss what happens if one breaks, so there may be more to the legends of these fabled Snow Globes!
I'm going to put on my fur-coat and continue exploring the chilly Ice Age!
Hope to see you again and be well!
