Lessos

Lessos is a large town situated in the Montevillan province of Setemio, on the West Coast of Montevillo. Setemio is the smallest of the provinces. Lessos itself is a small city, known most prominently for its leader, The High Judit, who presides over a small off-shore keep that can be reached only by boat. Setemio is fairly isolated, separated from the rest of the region by a mountain range, and therefore the people of Lessos keep to themselves.

Demographics

Lessos' racial makeup is primary human, though halflings, half-elves, dragonborn and other races are not uncommon. The people of Lessos work as artisans, farmers, and scholars. The wealth spread is not as defined as other cities in Montevillo, and the median income stands at approximately 400 gold pieces annually. The upmost class individuals are as priests, monks, and nobles, as Lessos is one of the only cities in which religious worship is tolerated, due to its isolation and the nature of its leader.

Government

Lessos is ruled symbolically by The High Judit, though the Judit has a small circle of saints who maintain law and order around the city. These figures employ other monks to collect taxes around the city. Taxation is high and primarily invested into the maintenance of Lessos' many churches.
The High Judit's saints are referred to as The Eternal Judissary. Members include St Bernal d'Aragon, St Telleto Moya, St Antonio de Orello, and St Eleanora Ceron.
