Day 1:
The name is Edmont Black. Expedition leader of the Expedition. Yesterday, we found something within the mountains. Some form of cubic device the likes of which we have never seen before. At first, we believed that it may have something to do with the Emperor's unholy mission. Though, these runes are not the likes of Di'estra, no. Nor do they seem to originate through what we know of the seven hells. Further studies are required.
Day 7:
Now a week has passed. We've recieved words that the Sire himself seeks to make an appearance, to see what this thing is all about. Personally, I'm thrilled. The chanse of meet the living legend who found Diestria. Though, it also fills me with a sense of dread. Just the other night, I had cold shivers at the thought. What could possibly be so important that he comes in person
Day 10:
Somehow the Sire managed to activate the object. It's now spinning rapidly and we are awaiting whatever results may come from it.
Day 11:
A day has gone and still nothing has happened. The device is still just spinning. I could also swear that I can hear odd whispers calling to me from the walls of the old cave. Maybe it's just the stress getting on my nerves. Starting from tomorrow, I shall take a few days of rest to clear up my mind.
Day 17:
More than two weeks have already passed and I'm starting to feel uneasy. The other expeditioners seem to have grown harsh and cold. Just yesterday a couple fights broke out, but the Sire broke them up. The worst part is, he himself seems like the only one who's not had a change of personality. As for the whispers, they seem to have ceased so. Perhaps all we really need is a break from this damned cold.
Day 23:
Something has been released by our meddling. I do not know what nor the consequences, but the artefact suddenly exploded. Those who didn't die in the blast, they turned mad. The Sire himself is nowhere to be found. I've a bad feeling, this is just the start of something far worse.
Day 43:
We've assembled our troops in the town hall. This madness may not be allowed to spread any further. If we need to track down and kill everyone with this parasite on their minds, I'm afraid we shall have too. Even if it's with a heavy heart.
Day 70:
Our forces are slowly withering apart. The town itself is crawling all over with monsters. We've sent a runner to traverse the mountain to the mainlands of the Empire, but. I fear it's already too late.
