Fendelen

Fendelen was initially founded in 494 EP and was one of the first to be officially founded after the establishment of Renaria. During Renaren's Conquest of Horizon, the warlord's army established a keep on the banks of Lake Abberren as a counter against elven attacks from Luma Forest. After the war, Renaren gifted the keep and the title of lord to one of his most esteemed generals. Over time, what started as a simple fishing village grew into the major city it is today.
Curiously, despite the bountiful nature of the lake, Fendelen has always had its fair share of ghost stories and tall tales surrounding the deceptively deep waters of Lake Abberren (a reputation it had even before Fendelen was settled). This came to a head when the ancient, eldritch creature that lurked in the far depths of the lake targeted the town and attempted to turn it into a thrall state.
Fortunately, the Leviathan was thwarted by a group of adventurers, though Fendelen didn't have much time to relax as they found themselves in the crosshairs of the undead hordes seeking to subjugate the province. Despite this, the city continues to press on and is hopeful that the current end-of-the-world crisis won't spell the end of them this time too.
