Kittsadora (Kit-sah-door-ah)
A hidden settlement in the depths of the eastern Oran Mountains occupied by a clan of tabaxi. Kittsadora is a monastic city, ruled over by (though the monks would prefer the term "guided by") an order of monks and its elders.
This has been so for several generations now, but Kittsadora has not always been so peaceful. The cavern it occupies was once the volcanic lair of the red dragon Yolgorah. A host of tabaxi, lizardfolk, kobolds, and others served as his vassals and minions and venerated him as a god.
Yolgorah terrorized the region for decades until, in 819, a splinter of the tabaxi clan that served him turned on him. The battle was fierce, but eventually, the new Silent Mountain clan emerged the victor over the original Roaring Peak clan, who were exiled along with a heavily wounded Yolgorah.
The Silent Mountain have stewarded the old lair ever since, dubbing it Kittsadora because they were feeling a little cheeky that day. However, in the centuries since, there has always been an invisible weight on the tabaxi. The possibility that Yolgorah would one day return was always at the back of their mind; reinforced by an elder's visions that a member of the exiled Roaring Peaks would one day come into their midst and herald the return of Yolgorah.
These premonitions eventually revealed themselves to be at least partially true when the tabaxi, Star of Morning (who usually goes by the name Mr. Buttons) was brought to the Silent Mountain as a cub bearing an icon of the Roaring Peak. Much later, the adventuring party Buttons accompanied was responsible for the discovery of the wayward Roaring Peak Clan. However, instead of heralding a new conflict, Buttons was able to reunite the fractured clans.
At some point, Yolgorah was awoken from his slumber, but that was at the hands of another descendent of the dragon's old cult. However, the dragon seemed less interested in reclaiming his old lair as he was in pursuing a new kind of power...
Infrastructure
The volcanic nature of Yolgorah's lair cooled with the departure of the dragon, forming tiers and layers of basalt that the tabaxi built their monastery upon. In addition, they were able to siphon in ice-melt from the peaks of the mountains above them to form a pristine, crystal-clear lake around the village.
The last remaining vestiges of Yolgorah's influence is the large glowing orb at the top of the cavern that acts as the village's sun analog. In addition to providing "daylight," the artificial sun provides nourishment for plants and allows the tabaxi to practice agriculture.
