Mariaco

The eastern most city of Kentro; originally was the largest of a series of castles and fortresses built along the western banks of the Verdelen River by allied forces repelling the Haedian Empire. The garrison and their families necessitated farms to the west, which led to a permanent agricultural settlement which grew with the ages.

Mariaco serves as a sentinel for the rest of the region with patrols and outposts that survey the numerous river crossings for signs of a renewed invasion, especially with news of the city-states of Requiem uniting again under Sigil Mariot, according to the stories, was the charismatic warlord that united the feudal states of the Lysgard Highlands. In some stories, he was a prolific fighter whose sword strokes generated whirlwinds. In others, he was a dragon.
