The Old Aeturnum Pantheon
Before their Empire fell, the elves venerated a vast pantheon of deities and spirits they collectively referred to as the Seldarine (sell-dah-reen). This pantheon was renounced by the elves of Mir'Heled after Aeturnum was shattered, believing these so-called "gods" did nothing to prevent their mighty Empire's collapse. Some offshoots of the Aeturnum empire, like the city of Dor'loss in Requiem still venerate the old gods.
Generally, these elven gods were either depicted as celestial-like elves modified with aspects of their domain, or as an animal related to it. While there were dozens, if not hundreds, of gods that comprised the Seldarine, these were some of the most prolific:
- Corellon (core-ell-ehn): a god of magic, warfare, music, and art.
- Angharradh (ahng-hahr-rahd): a goddess of the moon, dreams, mysteries, and secrets.
- Faenya (fane-yah): a goddess of the wind and weather.
- Sashelas (sah-shay-lahs): a goddess of the seas
- Labelas (lah-beh-lahs): a god of time, history, and knowledge.
- Tarsellis (tar-sell-ehs): a god of the earth.
- Celanil (sell-ah-nill): a goddess of love, joy, and beauty.
