After the retaliation attempt, the arms manufacturers became suspiciously quiet in all things regarding the subject. This raised questions about whether or not they knew something.

After the Archangels shot down a Mechrion Stinger, the two greatest weapons manufacturers, Nathan Armories, and Johnson Mechanize Warfare immediately seized control of the downed craft. They kept their discoveries secret, and paid the Archangels to do the same. One such discovery that was kept secret, was how the aliens were tracking the stinger. The report circulating around the Archangels command, and the leaders of the safe zones is, the retaliation was not over recent Armageddon Division operations, but rather an attempt to destroy the lost wreckage before humanity could get any research out of it. Still, they remained silent for nearly ten years. In 2635, they came forward not with a confession, but they finally publicized some of their discoveries, such as advanced beam weapons, and even prototypes for a hard light shield.
