Colorless illithid colony

Somewhere in the southwest Colorless Hills, a cave opens into the side of a mountain and leads into a winding maze of rooms and brine pools where an illithid colony resides. Intellect devourers scurry about, tadpoles wriggle and grow in spawning pools, thralls mindlessly guard the entrances, and mind flayers glide about as they study different aspects of the world and humanoidkind. Brains of humanoids are held captive in jars, allowing the illithids to extract their knowledge or punish their enemies for eternity. The hivemind's elder brain resides deep within the labyrinthine caves.

During 2024-01-20 Caim's Colorless Footsteps a group of adventurers entered the illithid colony and destroyed the elder brain and the ulitharid, shutting down the hivemind. They burned and smashed the colony's inhabitants and creations on their way out.
