The castle’s frame is nearly complete; the core supporting pillars are in place, and the walls are going up. We’re preparing the wood and plaster needed to start on the floors. Unfortunately, there was an accident yesterday- a hapless builder by the name of Welby fell from his scaffold when a sudden wind knocked him off balance. He fell two stories and landed badly, dying from the fall.

Moments later, a ghost resembling Welby materialized nearby. It spoke, proving that it was him! What a neat power this valley contains! As sad as this situation is, it’s been an interesting experience for everyone. Welby’s ghost has offered to help continue the construction - with the ability to hover, no less! – however, he is incorporeal, and struggles to move solid objects in a meaningful way. He can float, pass through many barriers, glows faintly in the dark, and can even possess other people, but can do little on his own.

This seems to be a flaw with the King’s plan to move here, but I have little doubt we’ll find a way around it.
