King Orvald is a genius! Our enemies would be fools to face us here in Ghost Valley! And given enough time, our army will expand as soldiers pass away… and they will continue to fight for us in undeath. One day the Orvald Kingdom will dominate the world with an unstoppable army of apparitions. Even I will have the honor of serving my nation for eternity. If there are enough ghost peasants, the living won’t even have to work anymore! It’s great!

I’ve pondered the King’s move some more. If I die and become a ghostly farmer, will I experience the toil of labor? That sounds like an honorable fate for others to undergo for their country. I myself would prefer to rest in peace, though, if the afterlife is a conscious state.
