We gather to remember the wise, brave, and hard-working souls who passed away in the forge accident. Our 312 lost friends and family from the forge and Entis will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Without their efforts, the Orb of Radiance would not have been completed. ~~~ This has been an especially hard month. Just when we were doing well, when the Orb of Radiance was assembled and heat injection was in progress, something went wrong… the earth rumbled, and magma blasted forth. The forge wasn’t destroyed, but it was… lifted. As the magma cooled, the three main spouts formed mountains. There are two saving graces: one, the magic-reinforced walls of the forge held together, and kept it upright. Two, the Orb and its container were not destroyed. In fact, it’s possible the hot lava helped it glow much more brightly than we expected. The next challenge is figuring out how to relocate it to the primer cannon north of here, especially from atop its tall stone block. We’ll most likely need another huge equipoiser, but that will cost us another month or two. I’m going to focus on improving our seismic monitoring to prevent this from happening again.
