The Yuan-ti

Yuan-ti are a humanoid race with serpentlike features, such as snake eyes, forked tongues, and scales. They originate from Feather Island. Yuan-ti do not experience emotions in the same capacity as most humanoids, and their dampened empathy tends to lead them toward selfish and sociopathic tendencies. Lost explorers on Feather Island often wind up as their slaves.
The yuan-ti are very unhappy with the presence of colonizers from mainland Archestria on their island. Many have made their way to the continent by sailing or sneaking onto ships in disguise. Most of these travelers hold a deep hatred toward mainlanders and act as spies, saboteurs, and assassins.
