The security upgrades to Castle Shalador are nearly complete. I would have doubted whether the increased traps and password-glyph doors were necessary, were it not for the rising tensions between the Phyondal and Orvald Kingdoms. I can empathize with Queen Shawala’s desire to protect herself from would-be assassins after King Wershel narrowly recovered from poison last month. Pointed One protect us from our enemies and their disgraceful attempts to undermine us.
I do admit that the password glyphs were an odd choice. Queen Shawala famously isn’t known for her memory, so she has chosen to decorate the areas near these magically sealed doors with objects that can remind her of the keyword. An intruder who doesn’t realize this would have a hard time getting through, but I worry that a lucky or informed one might be able to riddle their way into the most protected depths of our stronghold.
In other news, those raving explorers are still trying to convince our citizens that we must flee or face extinction. I initially dismissed the report as the shoutings of attention-hungry lunatics, but to my surprise, their message is gaining traction. I will send a squad of soldiers to silence them for their insolence. The Pointed One will save us from any dangers our kingdom faces; they must learn this and never forget it.
