Svalian Wastes

The Svalian wastes are a desolate glacial region located in the northernmost section of Svalvag. Several feet of snow cover the ground in most areas, but in some places there is thick ice instead. The blanket of endless white is only broken by barren rocks that jut out occasionally. Its barren nature, combined with its religious significance, prevents most Jarls from laying claim to the region.

Natural Resources

There are little to no natural resources for the average person. However, there are many magical components that can be used by someone knowledgeable and strong enough to obtain them, ranging from rare plants with alchemical properties, to the body parts of various beasts and monsters that hold deadly energy.

According to Svalian myth, the "Astral Gate" lies dormant deep within the Wastes. If it is to be opened, every plane of existence, including that of the gods, may be accessed.
