Glasswitch

Glasswitch is a city on the Coast of the Aswarian Empire. Famous for its many kinds of glass and the domestication of the Flail Snail. Many Flail Snail herders shelter their herds here during the Coldest parts of the year. The cold causes the snails to hibernate and special shelters have been erected on the outskirts of the city.

Demographics

There are sea elves, humans, dwarves, halflings, gnomes, elves, orcs and many more besides. A massive melting pot, practically every group has their own niche corner of the city.

Defences

There is a moat around the main city walls. It was once filled with water but after a particularly dry year, the moat ran dry and it was discovered that the glass makers and crafters had been dropping any off cuts/unusable glass into the moat. The resulting sharp and spiky barrier proving more effective as a deterant for outsiders. After this they blocked off the water and kept the glass moat instead.

Tourism

One big draw card for tourists is the annual Glassblowing Competition and Fair where contestents compete to win bragging rights and the prize money. There are many displays and merchants, royalty and travellers all come to marvel and shop.

A lot of glass is used. Partially as it is plentiful. But also to show off what can be done with glass.
