Currency of Arcturus

Currency of Arcturus has become more streamline and easier to carry. Coins are still around, but there are far fewer. In fact there are only 2 types of coins left, while everything else has been converted to a paper-like form to make it easier to carry and exchange. In order to exchange any monies, one must go to a Currency House of Exchange (Bank), stores won't typically do exchanges of money in such a way. Platinum is extremely rare to come across as it takes 1000 Gold to equal 1 Platinum.

10 Electrum=1 Gold
1000 Gold=1 Platinum

Manufacturing process

Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum are all mined materials. Gold and Platinum are woven into a paper like material. Electrum is made from a silvery thread that gets woven into a paper like material.

History

Invented during the Age of the Arcane to replace bartering systems, currency started out as coins. Electrum was not originally part of the currency at the time, it came into circulation after the Warring Era.

Rarity

The wealthy were very well aware, when the system was made, that it didn't make sense. They made sure that it was difficult for the common folk to get their hands on Platinum so they could keep themselves above the rest of society. Queen Adelphi, and many of the other current day world leaders, are working together to get this changed in order to try to put an end to senseless poverty.
