Raffner (Raff-ner)
- Half-human half Irtath, these rare species share their human souls with an Irtath spirit.
- This means that these beings are constantly at war with some of their fundemental human-natures and the fundementally good Irtath who can manipulate their emotions.
- The Irtath acts somewhat as a symbiotic parasite with the human body and spirit, as they are protected and can travel more easily, and the human body and spirit is pre-destined with a power to do good.
- Some Raffner's flaunt their status, sometime to peril or capture, while others try to hide it, subtley working their way into corrupt organizations or kingdoms to attempt to be influencial in a positive way.
- Raffners are "born" only on the southwestern shores of Aggory, on a small island in Smokey Torch Harbor that has come to be known as Raffner's Cradle.
- Shrowded in mystery, it is believed that a human mother is chosen by the deity Eunoia, The Pure Soulweaver, and before giving birth finds herself drawn to the small island. If she is found to be worthy she will give birth to a Raffner on Raffner's Cradle and be blessed with a wonderful life as she raises the young child for a greater purpose.
- These young children are greatly sought after by those wanting to have influence and to try to shape the Raffner and it's Irtath to grow to serve them. It is for this reason that the island has come to have both magical and physical protections that are nearly impenetrable except by pure souls.
