Adoese
Free folk of the west
The Adoese are the free people of the Western Continent, striking out from their island homes of Ado. Many of the Adoese are either descendants of, or are, liberated Cathanese slaves. They are a people who value order and freedom, and see themselves as the primary bastion of humanity in the Western Continent.
The existence of Ado and the Adoese is much of a foil to the elven suprmacists of Cathay. As former slaves, it is unsurprising that the Adoese go to great lengths to lengths to prepare themselves against Cathanese invasions. In addition, the Adoese also have volunteers known as the "Liberators", who make it their mission to rescue more the non-elven population of Cathay as they can. To this end, the Adoese hone their skills and reflexes to outwit and outmatch the Cathanese Legion.
Yet, not everything in Ado is merely framed in reference to their conflict. The Adoese have sought to create a safe haven for their people, building up their islands as bastions of peace in the region. They also possess a unique culture unlike any other in Arda, and are the only people who doesn't have a religious majority of either Heavens or Primordial worship, instead preferring the guidance of their ancestors and local spirits.
The people of Ado are largely men, but they also accept others who share their mission, and especially those otherwise ostracized by the Cathanese, including dwarves, kobolds, or even half-elves who are often treated with disdain among the Cathanese. The people of Ado don't abide by full-blooded elves, and they are not treated with any kindness of courtesy in their lands, even if they are not from Cathay.
Adventurers: The Adoese are often split on their ideals about adventure. Being former slaves, many are content with remaining on their islands in relative peace, preferring not to risk recapture. Others have been galvanized and inspired by their newfound freedom, and seek to bring it to others. These adventuring types often join the Liberators, but others will travel abroad to experience the meaning of freedom.

In order to keep potential new ancestries balanced, I used a "race point" calculator in an effort to create equitable ancestries. For comparison, a non-variant human is 9 RP.
