Defining Secondary Characters

For the purposes of this listing, "secondary characters" are defined as non-player characters (NPCs) who play a role typically at a singular point in an act (see The Story So Far), with the implication that they are generally irrelevant to the greater plot to one or more of the campaigns. Additional characters are likely to be added as the party travels and make new memories, while others may return (and potentially become a recurring character). If you don't see a specific character, they may be either be a past or current player character (such as Drake or Rotund) or may be listed as a recurring character.   For player characters, see the Character Codex for more details.   For the Torch company founded by Torchlord Gregor, see the Gregor's Torch Company for more details.   For other non-player characters not listed here or above, see the Recurring Characters for more details.

Listing

  • Ailen - The old elven innkeeper who runs the Star-Crossed Inn with his wife. The mask and sword he keeps on the mantle seem to know more about the Midnight Duelists than he lets on.
  • Argest - Also known as Margrave Argest. This half-orc half-elf is the Stack Warden of the Westport Library, the head librarian and curator of Magnos' massive trove of knowledge.
  • Ashrah - A former human member of the famed "Shadow Assassins", and a current member of SLY. Leaving for the lack of autonomy in her work, she now pursues contracts in the Romanoran city of Iulus.
  • Baldric - A former Rianni raider and jewelry merchant from Thule.
  • Carus deFay - The older brother of Selena and personal physician of the Archmagister.
  • Canta - Better known as Herald Canta, is the herald for Reception Hall. She acts as an announcer and secretary for petitioners there. She is also a long-time friend of Selena.
  • Fixtwigs - An old gnome living outside of Solus, this country-speaking gnome is something of their village elder. He is often called "old man Fixit" by his neighbors due to his handiness.
  • Friair - The daughter of Khan Rian and competitor in the Grand Moot, she is in every way as stubborn and headstrong as Rian is, but at least the people know they will be in good hands should the Khan ever die.
  • Gaius - An upbeat half-elf sailor on the White Pearl.
  • Herken - A young kobold alchemical prodigy, who is the Councilman of Alchemy and Material Sciences, of the prestigious Magnosi governmental cabinet, called the Council of Twenty-Two. Despite his age, he is a master of alchemy, along with other budding mundane sciences.
  • Isolde - An elven maiden of myth. During the Last of the Primordial Wars, when her people were desperately battling the combined forces of the Primordials and the Shadow, she made a perilous trek to the peak of Khazad-Vala to petition the Heavens for divine intercession. Moved by her heartfelt plea, the god Mendos emerged from the Heavens to aid the embattled peoples of Khazad-Vala.
  • Kroll and Nug - Two thugs from Harad who came to strike it rich in the Grand Moot in Rian. Years later, they used their short-lived experience to get "proper" guard jobs in the city of Tenebrous.
  • Mogan - A powerful, fetchling sorceress from Amumbra, she came to avenge the death of the Knight Sat'iss as well as the honor of the Gilded Dragon.

  • Rexxa - A straight-laced half-orc woman who works aboard the White Pearl. More often called "Rex" by her crewmates.
  • Rian - The human Khan of the northern nation of Rian, which bears his name in his honor like his ancestors. Unbelievably strong and courageous, he has led its people through rising uncertainty and Romanoran aggressions. His magnanimous nature allows the continued autonomy of both High Peak and Khazad-Mor within its borders in exchange for mutual self-defense and yearly tribute.
  • Sage - An old and wizened woman of Tyre with knowledge and wisdom seeming to date even further back. She seems to know a surprising amount about the local dragons of Tyre and High Peak. Her treasure is a storybook of the local fairy tale, The Boy and the Dragon, which appears to be centuries old.
  • Sat'iss - A fetchling knight from Amumbra, he was one of the foremost among them tasked with recovering Quiatus' tomes before they fell into the hands of the Shadow's enemies.
