Sir Ulrich, with his loyal steed, Brandy

Written Backstory

Born in a small Romanorum farming village with a semi-famous local alcohol (Butter Brew) Ulrich lived a normal childhood. He liked going around town helping others with various troubles, though typically those that required physical labor. Any thing they couldn't complete on their own they had their loyal horse Brandy would pull and assist. Quite the popular person, Ulrich loved chatting with all of the people around town, helping them with their troubles, and (after growing a bit) sampling the town's alcohol. Ulrich especially loved when travelers would come to the village inn, and listen to all of their stories. One day he learned that another town a to the east also had a famous wine (Honey Sweet) and he just knew he had to go and try it. Not having a great talent for farming, Ulrich left with his parents blessings to live a good life and he set out in search of the eastern town with his loyal horse.

Along the way Ulrich rescued a small group of merchants being attacked by bandits and was given some rewards for helping out. The eastern town's wine was delicious and while staying at the inn Ulrich continued to help vilagers, talk, make friends, and drink some more; eventually learning of yet another town in Magnow with a magically enchanted brew (Wizard's stout).

Repeat this adventure dozens of time, traveling to towns and countries all around, making friends with the population, saving travelers from monsters and bandits, and after some years Ulrich became something of a legend to alcohol makers. Dubbed as Sir Ulrich the Cavalier of the Flagon, any town that had him visit would be met with prosperity. Sir Ulrich himself just likes to make friends wherever he goes and drink good booze.

After the first few years, Sir Ulrich picked up a journal and started filling it out with the towns and their local drinks, marked with upside down horseshoes for bad and right side up horseshoes for good.

Many small towns have people that have met Sir Ulrich, several travelers and merchants have been personally helped by him, even a Dragon or two was pleased to share a drink with him. Almost anywhere he goes, Sir Ulrich either has friends or can make them in short order.
