The Valar raise the Two Lamps in Endor

After the First War, the Valar built the kingdom of Almaren in the Great Lake in the center of Endor, the “Middle Earth.” They raised the two titanic Lamps of Light in the north and south of Endor. In the far north, beyond the lamp, Melkor raised the Iron Mountains and build his kingdom of Utumno. He then waged the Second War, breaking the Lamps and destroying Almaren. The pillars crashed across the land and collapsed into the sea, swallowing Almaren in massive flooding.
