Military action

The elves are exiled from Valinor by Mandos.

Feanor leads a large force of Elves following Morgoth to Endor, in spite of being forbidden to leave Valinor. They kill other elves at the port to steal the ships they need to sail. Mandos appeared then, exiling them from Valinor.   Not long after arriving, they fight the Battle at Hildorien in the East where the Edain (first men) awake. Five centuries pass and the Elves grow settlements in Beleriand in the Northwest and other places. During this time, one of the Silmarils taken from his crown and set into a necklace by the Dwarves (the Nauglamir). Changes hands until it comes to the elf princess Elwing who weds the Edain Earendil. When Beleriand and hidden city of Gondolin overrun by Morgoth’s forces, Earendil takes the Nauglamir and said to Aman to beg the Valar for help. They answer the call, but Earendil not permitted to return to Endor.
