Culture and cultural heritage

Drawing their ancestry from the allies of the Traitor King Obrinn the Furious Red River, copperbloods are detested and mistreated within the confines of Fervor. Though they are represented by an Archon, their leader holds little power compared to the other two archons of silverblood and goldblood descent. Copperbloods often work in households and other services to the upper classes.   The Fervorian chamber of commerce enacts strict codes and regulations overseeing the copperblood class and ensuring that their limited sets of rights are upheld, while ensuring that no copperblood rises too far above thier place. This kind of treatment has driven many who can afford the journey to leave the lands of Fervor in search of a better life, though they hold their ancestral heritage close to their heart.

Shared customary codes and values

The Fervorian peoples whose ancestry is derived from the traitor, Obrinn and are considered undesirables by Silverbloods and Goldbloods.

Average technological level

Copperbloods are not permitted to use magic within the confines of Fervor, nor are they allowed to leave the empire with certain magical artifacts or devices. Those who disobey this law are put to death on the spot.

Common Etiquette rules

Among copperbloods, honor is an important concept; treachery and underhanded fighting is greatly frowned upon. Disputes are often settled in one-on-one combat, these displays of aggression often attract the attention of crowds and city guards. Copperbloods care little for things such as manners or etiquette and have been described by some more conservative figures as "brutish."

Common Dress code

Copperbloods often dress in simple tunics or whatever form of clothing they can afford, most often taking on sets of clothing from other cultures. In the empire of Fervor, copperbloods are forbidden from wearing garments pertaining to the Silverblood or Goldblood classes.

Art & Architecture

Copperbloods make for excellent builders, sculptors, and craftsmen. Though they are most often associated with the dilapidated ghettos of stone houses found throughout the cities of Aristolia and Fervor. Moreover, copperbloods are not often known for precision artistry and fine details; often drawing the ridicule of more proficient painters.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Copperblood fervorians dislike being associated with their namesake, Obrinn the Furious Red River, and the dark elements associated with the figure. Instead they often celebrate Helos the Copperblood, a fervorian hero who revealed Obrinn's dark plots to Hadan. Many fervorians feel that the angelic Helios of the Church of Helios to be the very same individual and often celebrate holidays from this church as well.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

Copperbloods, like their fervorian kin, are borne from the ancient temple marble quarry far into the depths of the Xervanos Mountains. Copperbloods have no family amphora, as they were all destroyed after the Second Age of Hadanguard; they instead smelt down copper from coins and other copper resources to bring with them on the journey.   Copperbloods are allowed within the temple, but they are forbidden from cutting from the pristine marble, instead they are given lower quality marble to sculpt their child with. Temple priests often reinforce just how lucky they are to be given such an opportunity, given their traitorous heritage.   Copperbloods do not necessarily always need a fervorian partner for the journey, and Human and even Tokage partners have made the journey. Entry into the temple grounds by non-fervorians is forbidden, and so the partner must wait outside while the copperblood continues alone.

Coming of Age Rites

Copperbloods are proud of their fervorian heritage, despite how despised they are within its borders. A young copperblood proves themselves when they overcome some kind of trial or tribulation. In some cases this may be the defeat of a rival or the resolution of a social dispute.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Copperbloods are not allowed the privledge to have their remains enshrined alongside their fervorian kin. Most copperbloods find their end in narrow alleyways, sunken at sea, or buried in the customs of a different culture.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Copperbloods are best known for their unkempt appearance, their smooth marble skin is often marked with cracks, broken off limbs, and crumbling features. Most copperbloods have little care for the exterior appearance of themselves and others, as one's character is more important.

Gender Ideals

Fervorian men and women find cameraderie in their seperate distinctions, and both push eachother towards physical prowess. Men prefer to excel in combat and make great names for themselves as mercenaries. Women prefer to retain their fervorian heritage and ensure that the next generation is taught the stories of their ancestors. Of course, these ideals are not inherently exclusive to either.

Courtship Ideals

Copperbloods tend to grow up under rough conditions in most cases, and trust is a very difficult thing to come by, especially of those from bad backgrounds. A copperblood who commits themselves to another is an honor to have, as those bonds of loyalty are earned, not given. Copperbloods have been known to commit themselves to not only just fervorians, but individuals from other races as well.

Relationship Ideals

To a copperblood, character and loyalty are the most important thing; above physical beauty or exterior appearance. A copperblood expects their partner to push them towards ever greater heights and holds their partner to the same kinds of expectations.
The most common and widespread of the fervorian caste system, they are often mistreated by their kin and find better company with humans.
