Prince Maitiu Beth
Third son of King Bethraal Beth and Queen Pallas of Graunt.
Twin brother of Torintha.
Named for his fondness for the color red, Maitiu would earn his title after having his throat slashed whilst attempting to escape the city of Revelback, disguised as an Eyscher mercenary, for purposes still unknown.
Maitiu was very close with his twin Torintha, and they both joined their elder brother Carn the Usurper on his voyage north to Vaina and back. Maitiu was rumored to have left bastards in the bellies of many women along their journey, though none ever presented themselves in Revellia. Indeed, Maitiu never married and produced no heirs, and his closeness with his sister led to some unsavory rumors, but Torintha's own reputation for taking multiple lovers (men and women, it was claimed) would oft diffuse these rumors.
After his death, Maitiu would be rumored to be a speller, but this is most likely due to the empty missive satchel found on his person after his murder. Couriers are notoriously non-spellers, however, selected for their inability to read the secrets contained therein.
