Emerald Coast

The Emerald Coast makes up the majority of the northern coast of Balukthur. It is named as such for two reasons. First, the land found on the Emerald Coast is incredibly fertile due to natural minerals and nutrients within the soil. This has caused the coast to be covered with dense forests that have a distinctly emerald-green pigment. Also, the region is incredibly rich in emeralds.

Geography

The Emerald Coast is considerably large, covering the entirety of the Baruan Peninsula and most of the northern shore save for the section taken up by the Maenorian Desert. The general geographical shape of the coast is generally flat at the very edge of the sea which quickly makes way to heavily forested hills and valleys.

Natural Resources

The natural resources of the region come in two general categories. The first being that of lumber from trees native to the region along with other similar materials. The second being mineral resources, the most obvious and pervasive of which is emeralds. The region is abundant in the gemstones, and the emeralds found in the region are generally of a higher quality than most from other places.
