Morduinian Steel
Morduinian Steel is a unique alloy that is somewhat comparable to steel, although it is not actually steel. It is incredibly hard and flexible but can be dissolved immediately into nigh-undetectable traces with just a small amount of thulstoric oil. The metal is also naturally extremely toxic if exposed to the blood stream. These two attributes make it the prime material of choice for assassins' weaponry. However, knowledge of how it is made and worked has remained a closely guarded secret within Morduin. The metal is most commonly used in the creation of Morduinian daggers, although other weapons are often also made with it.
Properties
Material Characteristics
Morduinian steel is a very dark grey metal with strands of silvery metal running through it. It is also notable for being highly lustrous.
Physical & Chemical Properties
This metal is highly unique for a number of reasons. First, it can be dissolved into a seemingly undetectable gas using Thulstoric Acid, an alchemical innovation made in Morduin. It is also very durable and flexible, making it well-suited to use in weapons. It is also naturally incredibly toxic, poisoning any whose blood stream is contaminated with it rather severely. The Morduinians have also developed a way to work and temper the metal in order to customize its poisonous effects. This has allowed Morduinian steel to be used for everything from paralyzation and blindness to neurotoxins. One type, although very rare and very expensive, is incredibly acidic, forgoing its normal poisonousness.
Geology & Geography
The material is an alloy that is only made in Morduin, with none but the smiths who craft it knowing how the alloy is created and what metals go into it. Some have even speculated that it is a natural metal and not an alloy at all.
