The Shattered Mountains

The Shattered Mountains are a group of Mountains within the Bæors. During the Final Sundering, the mountains were almost completely destroyed, turning their upper halves into piles of large boulders and rubble. They create part of the border between the Ulsterian Empire and Annorn.

Geography

Before being destroyed, the mountains were some of the largest in the world. Even after being crumbled, they are still incredibly tall and are larger than some mountains elsewhere. The location has a rugged beauty, since the clouds generally rest on the tops of the mountains with the broken peaks visible above them. The sides are generally covered in evergreen trees that quickly give way to snow that never fully melts off the sides of the mountains.

Fauna & Flora

The general flora consists of hardy grasses, cold weather berries, holly, and evergreen shrubs and trees. There are a few unique plants that dwell on the mountains. The most prevalent of these are cloudberries, obleroot, and underberries. The native fauna consists mostly of larger forest-dwelling mammals and large birds of prey. Some examples are the I'krall (a type of wolf), deldrun (a type of bear), Osseri Stags (a type of deer), and hawks/eagles. It is believed that some Rocs have nested above the clouds in the remains of the Fallen Peaks, but most people don't dare investigate such a theory.
