Ulsterian Empire

The Ulsterian Empire was one of the first nations to secede from the Deodene Empire. It is ruled by Frederic Grant IV, who retains far more power than he is theoretically supposed to. In theory, the power of the monarch is supposed to be limited by the General Assembly. However, King Frederic IV indirectly aided many of the members of the Assembly in their rise to power. As such, the General Asssembly rarely votes contrary to his wishes, giving him nearly unlimited power.

Demography and Population

Most of the population is skewed towards the southern regions as well as the coastal regions. The birth and death are not stable, with the average family having upwards of 3 children.

Territories

Northern Half of the Greater Ulsterlands

Technological Level

The nation maintains a relatively high technological and scientific level. They have access to basic factories that are generally powered by coal, as well as access to limited firearms. Like the majority of the known world, much of the population (specifically urban) have access to reliable plumbing.

Foreign Relations

Somewhat tense relationship with Lanador and Dolkhartha. Mild allies of the Deodene Empire and Maenor.

Agriculture & Industry

It is mostly industrial, with heavy focus on steel and iron production. It also has a pseudo-monopoly on gunpowder, which has become incredibly important in the last half of a century. There is some agricultural activity across the empire, but due to its climate little more than hardy grains can be grown.

Trade & Transport

The Ventneer Highways, which are a series of long, well-paved roads that stretch across the empire. Most importantly, it connects coastal cities such as Kirkport with the Rimepass in the Bæor Mountains. However, the most common means of trade and transport throughout the empire is nautical due to the empire's access to the Alcienian Gulf

Education

Education is somewhat accessible to the lower class. Free public education does not exist, with all schools requiring payment to enroll. The cost of enrollment varies greatly depending on location, demand, staffing, etc. As such, the wealthy have access to far more education of a higher quality, with many going to study subjects at a college level. Meanwhile, nearly no commoners or lower class citizens have access to specialized training and education.

May the King prevail.
