The Call Of Heroes

It was a mere few hundred years after the War Of Souls. Many brave defenders of the world had given their lives to protect Arelia from being consumed by the Dark Abyss and the Infernal Hells. The war had come to a stale mate. Even so, the mortals wondered "What would happen if more come? If a stronger invasion force was sent? What if beings from other Planes set their eyes on Arelia as their new world to conquer and enslave?" Many simply replied with the same words the King of the Barbarian Hordes did "We'll hold against them too then". Others prayed to the gods, in fear, hope or faith. The gods answered. On 52,000 FOE, every Cleric, Paladin and priest/priestess of the the gods all proclaimed at once with words that shook the ground itself what would become later known as "The Call Of Heroes". The words spoken were as follows:   "Before the darkness can reach forth again, before the fire can consume, before the others come with force, the god-king shall issue forth the call to all. From worlds beyond our own, with the flash of lightning, the sound of thunder, the air shall split and from it shall arrive those who shall prepare the way for the new age of heroes to come.   Behold they come: The Warrior of the Clouds, The Raven's Chosen Song, Nature's Blessed One, The Rider of Hell, The Loyal Son, The Horned Queen, The Brothers of Metal, Lightning and Fire, The Inventor, The Twin Brothers of Darkness and The Demon-born Thought. They are the few of fearlessness and determination.   Others shall come soon after: The Devil-born Angel, The Pirate Lord, The Holy Warrior, The Ocean's Son and The Earth's Traveler who sail upon fearlessness and the wrath of the ocean god upon waters of danger. They shall bring the lion's pride to mentor those to come.   Then the final group shall arrive: The Pirate King and Queen, The Crafty Son of Bond Forged in Blood, The Goddess of Fire who shall unite a kingdom, The Sword of Song, The Death in the Shadows and The Prophet. They shall bring the second sun before the darkest night.   With these heroes the way is prepared and victory is made possible."

Historical Basis

This so called "myth", as it is called in the present times, is an actual historical event that is proven in written history of every nation, every religion and every race. Unfortunately, aside from the most devout and studious of history, most simply think this a myth.

Spread

This myth is known throughout the entire world and is a common story told.

Variations & Mutation

What once was told as fact, a historical event, has now been diluted by time as mere fairy-tale or bedtime story. Something one tells children to help them feel better about the darkness.

Cultural Reception

Some cultures have adapted it to be instead used comfort those plagued by drought, sickness, a loss of a loved one or times of sadness. Despite this, in the Barbarian Hordes this is a fact of history and the beginning of their great war.

In Literature

Within the libraries of Protos Naos as well as the Lazurite Academy there are books that detail the event and is taught as a part of history.

In Art

In the great halls of all the Kingdoms of Arelia there are murals, tapestries, and paintings of this. They can also be found in many homes of the affluent. Taverns across the realms have bards who all know the song of The Call Of Heroes. Gardens of great standing have statues that depict each of the "Summoned Heroes".
