The start of a journey

I helped the elders bury the lost ones before heading out to toto, they tried convincing me that there is no use for it, the we must stick together at all time, but they didn't understand, the world is evolving, and we must evolve with it or be forgotten. The first step I took, starting my journey, I've decided that im no longer abershaw, from this point on I'll be known as Jerry.
I began heading west, I knew that's not going to be an easy journey, those dragon clan tabaxies are still roaming the area so I had to keep my guard up.
I was riding in the woods on Rufus when he sudenly began sprinting, knocking me into a branch, leaving me on the ground, sometimes he completely pisses me off.
I managed to catch up to him when I saw the reason Rufus ditched me for, a tabaxi stuck on a tree, scared shitless, Rufus does have that effect on people, fortunately for him he wasn't a dragon clan member and he wasn't alone.
After calming Rufus down, letting the tabaxi down from the tree, he introduced himself as seto, a weird half human, half goat creature was named astraea (A satyr she claimed), a masked creature named Aien and a celestial looking creature named Rei.
The group said they were looking for a monkey temple, where a rare diamond they are after was supposed to be, I agreed to help them and began heading in the way Rufus was pointing. At some point he lost the tracks so Aien had to help us with the rest of the way, leading us to a pond, where we decided to rest for the night.
In the morning we were greeted with 3 giant, four armed gorilas, Aien managed to turn two of them againts each other, proving me he isn't just the hides in the bushes until its all over type of guy, but then Rei decided she had to sneak closer towards the satyr, which was unfortunate since she sucked at sneaking, leading us to an unnecessary conflict.
The entire party fought well, with me, getting some help from rufus, managed to hit the creature, bringing it down for good.
That moment I understood something about this group of adventurers, they might be capable of fighting, but their recklessnes will probably be the end of them.
