The town was nestled between towering peaks and was surrounded by dense, monster-infested forests. The people of Hafaborg were hardy and independent, having to fend for themselves against the harsh elements and dangerous creatures that lurked in the wilderness.    

Global knowledge

After the nordic conquest many of the warriors came to settle in the quiet town of Hafaborg, for years this place has been a place of quiets and peace where all human resources need where met so long they where protected from the monster dangers to the west. Though something has gone amis....   The town is surrounded by a ditch and palisades. 24 trained warriors serve in the town's defense, and a militia of 348 can be mustered in case of attack. The sheriff is Naerven Berevan, Male Goliath.  

Social

Hafaborg is a town founded by warriors, and its social structure reflects its martial origins. The people of Hafaborg are hardy and self-reliant, having learned to fend for themselves against the harsh elements and dangerous creatures of the surrounding wilderness. The community places great importance on strength, courage, and loyalty. They value martial prowess and honor the memory of fallen warriors.   The Brass Shield: This shabby Nordic inn is a gathering place for locals and travelers alike. Its interior is adorned with exotic weapons and armor, serving as a testament to the town's history and recent wars. Artifacts collected from battles decorate the walls, creating an atmosphere of adventure and bravery. Upstairs, visitors can find a long stretch of rentable rooms for their accommodation.   þjóney Tavern: Overlooking Raven Lake, þjóney Tavern is a long wooden building that resembles a hunting cabin. Inside its great drinking hall, dozens of antlers hang along the walls, giving it a rustic and natural ambiance. This establishment serves as a popular meeting place for hunters, warriors, and townsfolk, where stories of past adventures and heroic deeds are shared over drinks.   The Misty Wyvern Inn: a charming establishment nestled within the heart of Hafaborg. The two-story wooden structure is adorned with intricate carvings of mythical creatures, including a majestic wyvern perched atop its roof. The inn's entrance features a welcoming arched doorway, flanked by lanterns that cast a warm glow upon visitors. Inside, the main hall boasts a cozy fireplace, surrounded by comfortable seating and wooden tables adorned with fresh flowers. The walls are adorned with tapestries depicting local legends and heroic tales. The upstairs rooms offer a peaceful retreat, each adorned with handcrafted furniture and adorned with soft, colorful textiles. The inn's tavern is a lively hub where locals and travelers gather, enjoying hearty meals, fine ale, and live music performed by talented minstrels. The Misty Wyvern Inn captures the essence of Hafaborg's rich history and offers weary wanderers a welcoming respite.  

Political

Hafaborg is governed by a female jarl named Eyvor Stormclaw. Her son, Jorg, was captured during the Nordic conquest, and driven by a desire to honor his lost war comrades, Eyvor took the lead in establishing the town. Political power in Hafaborg derives from the city's connection to the western territories and the military protection it provides in the Hafa Pass.   The Holen Guild House: A grand building with stone walls, the Holen Guild House was once an aristocrat's manor. It is rumored to house a magical portal that, in times of war, could open a path to the southern lands. Today, the building serves a dual purpose as the estate of the jarl and the city hall, where important decisions regarding governance and defense are made.  

Economic

In Hafaborg, the central trade market serves as a bustling hub of economic activity. At the heart of the market stands a tall statue of a rune-carved stone, paying homage to a local goddess of travel. This market is where various goods and commodities are bought and sold, allowing the townspeople to meet their daily needs.

  General Store: Kerkad's Sack - Owned by Kerkad Kimbatuul, a male Dragonborn, this general store is located in the artisan's district. The adobe building features a gray tile roof and a small koi pond. Inside, several battered shields hang on the walls, and a large grandfather clock stands in one corner. Sacks filled with fruit cover the floor, offering a variety of produce to the townsfolk.   Isolfr's Clocks: Run by a skilled human clockmaker named Isolfr, this workshop is renowned for its intricate timepieces and Isolfr's mastery of languages. The building holds an array of clocks and mechanisms, each a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of the clockmaker.   Warden's Wharf: Hafaborg's fishing port, Warden's Wharf, is a vital economic center. It serves as a hub for the gathering of trout, salmon, and other fish from the hrafn-sæ and neighboring rivers. The town's fishermen, known for their expertise, contribute to the local economy by providing a constant supply of fresh fish.   Alchemist: Seven's Trouble - Run by Seven Of Ale, a female Forest Gnome, this stucco building in the arcane quarter serves as an alchemist's shop. Inside, a large open floor with pillars creates an atmosphere of mystery and discovery. Crumpled up notes can be found scattered everywhere, hinting at ongoing experiments and research. The alchemist offers various potions, catering to the needs of adventurers and townsfolk alike.  

Religious and rituals

The people of Hafaborg are followers of Sif, the Norse goddess of skill in battle. Sif is revered as the wife of Thor and the mother of Uller and Thrud. The primary place of worship is the Church of Sif, a great square stone fort with two corner steeples. Within the church, practitioners tend to a central garden, creating a serene and peaceful environment. The church also houses a collection of arms and armor, symbolizing the town's dedication to martial prowess and protection.  

Military and Policing

Hafaborg maintains a defensive force to protect the town from threats. The town's defenses include a ditch and palisades, and it is guarded by 24 trained warriors. In times of need, a militia of 348 individuals can be mustered to bolster the town's defense. Policing is overseen by the sheriff, Naerven Berevan, a male Goliath, who ensures law and order within Hafaborg's boundaries.  

Key Characters:

  Eyvor Stormclaw Jarl of Hafaborg: a fierce and resilient female Tabaxi, stands as a prominent figure in Hafaborg. With her striking appearance reminiscent of a Bobcat Tabaxi, her piercing green eyes and sleek fur exude an air of confidence and determination. Eyvor earned her place as Jarl through her exceptional military prowess, having emerged as one of the surviving commanders from the failed war against the south.   Kerkad Kimbatuul: A male Dragonborn and the owner of Kerkad's Sack, the general store in Hafaborg. Kerkad is known for his business acumen and his ability to source and provide essential goods to the townsfolk. He is respected for his fair prices and reliability.   Isolfr: A skilled clockmaker and linguist, Isolfr runs Isolfr's Clocks. He is renowned for his craftsmanship and his ability to create intricate timepieces. His knowledge of languages makes him a valuable asset to the town, as he often serves as an interpreter and translator.   Seven Of Ale: A female Forest Gnome who runs Seven's Trouble, an alchemist's shop. Seven is known for her extensive knowledge of potions and alchemical concoctions. Her shop attracts adventurers seeking remedies, enhancements, and magical solutions to their problems.
