Right Hand to the Lord of Romaire
Alric was once a proud knight of Castinis, serving alongside his people to push back the Flamellens with whom his country had been warring with. Toward the end of the conflict however, he found a wounded Flamellen officer struggling to get away from the heat of battle, and by some twist of fate, something within Alric told him to save his enemy, rather than fell him. It would be because of this decision that his fellow countrymen would come to place their ire on Alric, especially when it's discovered that the man he saved was a very important High Noble, Vander du Guilliard-Bourdeaux.
Finding no love or kinship with his own people, some time after the war, Alric would inevitably decide to leave his homeland for good, taking with him the woman he would meet and fall in love with. Finding a bond with Vander, he would be welcomed in Flamelle with opened arms, despite which side he took during the war. Eventually, Vander would take him under his wing, and bring Alric into his council in Romaire, entrusting many important affairs to him.
By the year 1203 ATC, however, life had taken a horrible turn. As a plague ran wild through the country--forcing shutdowns and quarantines of towns and cities--Romaire would quickly follow suit. From the shadows, a conspiratorial organization would begin pulling the strings all throughout the country, causing violence, confusion, and mayhem. Romaire again would become victim to this, as Alya--Alric's wife--shows her true colors, controlling the minds of Vander and Alric himself in order to fulfil the Circle's bidding, in addition to her own insatiable desire for revenge against Flamelle.
It would be thanks to The Heroes of Romaire and their investigation into the city that would eventually free them all, though it would leave Alric feeling deeply betrayed, hurt, and rudderless for a time. Despite the betrayal and loss of his wife, Alric has resolved to stay in Romaire, his friendship with Vander allowing him to get through this time and provide him focus.
