Furnace

The city of Furnace, sitting along the mountain line west of Helmhawk is the main entertainment hub for the upper class of Auburn. It proudly boasts the title of 'Auburn's Arena', with it's many regulated fighting pits and rings. Many come from across the country to see talented warriors fight, sometimes till only one is left standing, and sometimes till only one is left breathing; often dependent on ticket price. A nearly indescribable amount of money moves hands here, with people putting their gladiators or themselves up against others for chances at big money, or betting on others for the same.
The average Furnacite's economic well being depends on the games, and without them they'd likely go broke. Businesses rely on the trade and tourism, and the noblefolk often keep their wealth by investing in fighters. Known well for it's slaves, the city also often finds itself in the sights of many militarizes, with nobles often selling their star fighters off into battles for very high prices. Some even buy slaves just to help them build reputations in the arena, then sell them off again for profit.

Despite it's boom in popularity only really being within the last few decades, the settlement has existed since long before. Furnace was once one of Auburn's largest mining towns, before the mountains ran dry. When Locus claimed thrown, the nobles found themselves with more moral freedom, and used that opportunity to bring themselves back into relevance.

Demographics

Despite the majority of Auburn's warforged being military, the warforged here rarely see a fighting pit. Part of the entertainment is the blood soaked sand of a recently used arena. The warforged that reside here remain in service roles, carrying luggage for tourists or corpses from pits. The vast majority of population besides that is human, though it varies. Since connecting with Sear, a large number of orcs and earth genasi have begun to find homes here, using their natural talents to thrive in the arenas.
