“Father!” The tiny angelic figure called, the fluttering of her large wings echoing through the halls of the palace. The girl was no more than four feet tall, with wings four times so in length. “Father!” She repeated, only to be answered by a distant chuckle. Akari would round the corner following the sound, nearly striking the wall with her reckless speed. As she turned she’d find herself with with the great throne room, the largest among many of the golden halls within Purity’s Palace. “My beloved daughter.” Liphan would say, sat in his throne of golden sunlight as he beckoned her over.
The Palace was a massive building, with white stone walls akin to that of marble, accented by gold inlay in a plethora of designs. Every wall an art piece dedicated to a different life created by the king. The main hall though, was different. The walls were blank, and emitted a constant golden light which washed over the room, warming the skin. Guards stood at the entrance to the hall. Nearly twenty foot tall angelic figures, clad in armor made of condensed light, wielding blades made of the same. They stood silent, though their eyes darted to the young girl as she veered into the hall.
Akari grinned brightly at the sight of her father, and slowly descended before she’d slides to a stop, wings folding onto her back as she beamed up at her father, who in his true form stood nearly fifteen feet tall, more than three times that of her. “Father! Father! I missed you!” She’d call, her excitement and joy shining even brighter than the sunlight of the room. “My dear, I missed you as well.” Liphan would say, leaning down to lift her up into his lap. “What is it can do for you, beautiful?”
Akari would blink, giggling at the gesture and compliment. “I saw a bunny while in the shell Dad! I want a tiny friend of my own! Can I have one? Can you make me one?!” She’d ask, seemingly working herself up with her own words. Liphan would smile at this, shaking his head with amusement. “Of course you may, my love. What would you like? Something mystical? Munda-” “Like the bunny!” She’d call out, interrupting his words. “Small! Hops! Cute! Cuddly!” She’d say, each word louder than the last as she bounced up and down in his lap., her childish excitement and giggles echoing throughout the halls of the great palace.
Liphan nodded, knowing exactly what to do. He’d lean in, and whisper to Akari. He’d tell her to head home, and that when she arrived her present would be awaiting her. She’d beam at that, her wings opening wide as she’d bounce out of her fathers lap, and shoot towards the exit. “Thank you!” She’d call back. “You’re very welcome.” Liphan would say in return, before standing, and getting to work.
Akari had always wanted more siblings, and though Deshai would never consider the idea of having more children, Liphan would always make her friends to compensate. This time, Akari’s fascination of the decade was cute animals, and so Liphan obliged. With his own divine force, the ability to create life, and a handful of raw fae energy, Liphan created a creature to fulfill his daughters wishes. It was young fox, white like snow. It was happy, always. It smiled wide despite it’s canine features, and bounced around with excitement. It nuzzled into the ankles of all it could, and simply wanted to meet new friends.
Akari would return to her home, a small cottage outside of a cute wood elven village. She’d open her bedroom door, and her eyes would widen. The tiny white fox within nine fluffy tails sat patiently on her bed, and upon it opening pounced at her. Mid-air, the creature poofed into a cloud of smoke, and appeared before Akari as a girl. The girl was only taller than Akari, just under four feet, with fox-like tails and ears to match her previous form. Both girls would grin at each other, and tightly hug, immediately bonding as close friends.
