Akari, twin sibling to Usugo, was a child of pure joy. Unlike the other gods, Akari and her brother were born of two rather than created. It's rumored by many that the gods simply age slower than mortals, though others say that the two prefer to stay in this form. Those devout to Shiwa say that because of their emotional state, they will stay children for eternity, as children feel emotions in a much more raw form.

• NOTE - Akari and Usugo are linked emotionally. When Akari would be hurt or have something bad happen to them, Usugo takes the full brunt of the sadness and pain. The same goes vice versa. When Usugo is given a gift or hears a funny joke, that emotion is all carried to Akari who feels it as vividly as if she was in his place.

Akari most commonly finds herself wandering the Argent, proudly showing off her disproportionately large white wings, bouncing along on the balls of her feet as she explores the beautiful world around her. She carries with her smiles everywhere she goes, and some say her influence is impossible to resist. Those in her presense can’t help but smile wide, and look at things from a glass-half-full scenario.
Akari’s largest group of followers call themselves The Order of the White Feather, with various large branches like the Lupine Knights or the Sisters of Bloom. The White feather worship hold two gods in particular in reverence, Akari and Onirin. It’s told that the duo inspired the organization generations ago, on a trip across the material. Akari and Onirin have always been close, and spend a lot of their time together bringing joy to those of Argent.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Akari’s most commonly used holy symbol is that of a multicolored star, often made of gold or brass. The star’s origin has little known about it besides a rather common legend told amongst her clergies. Specific branches of the church that feel particularly compassionate towards the tales of Akari’s brother often add a cylindrical protrusion in the center of the star, as if to fit within Usugo’s obsidion ring, filling the void that none before could fill.

Identifying Characteristics

Akari's most notable trait is her absolutely massive wings. While she only stands a few feet tall, her wingspan is nearly eight times that. Her massive white wings are a large part of her iconography. As where other gods would be depicted as larger more detailed figures, Akari is small, and most of the detail is put into her wings.

• Akari radiates an aura of happiness, causing those around her to always feel a spark of joy which trumps all other feelings.
• Akari has the ability to manipulate emotions, just like her brother. She can cause people to feel happier, or fall in love, or overcome their grief with a wave of her hand.

History

Akari has always adored her mother, as she adores everyone. She constantly bombards her mother with affection, gifts, and love. In her time alive, her mother and her have rarely disputed, and as far as she knows her mother loves her as much as she loves her mother. Unconditionally.
Though she never shows it, or at least tries not to, Deshai is incredibly resentful of Akari. If she was honest, she would say that she'd always liked Usugo more. She hates how all of the love anyone could ever show Usugo is, in her eyes, stolen by Akari. Akari doesn't annoy her or anything like that. She does love her daughter. It's just complicated from her perspective.

Nicknames & Petnames

While Akari has come to calling Deshai "Mommy" and "Mama", Deshai most commonly refers to Akari as "Little Ako". The same nickname she's held since she was born.

History

The twin children of Deshai and Liphan, Akari and Usugo have always known one another and always had a rather intense relationship. From birth, Usugo hated Akari, and Akari adored Usugo. They couldn't help it, and their fraternal curse only strengthened these bonds. Whenever Usugo would be positive, Akari instead feels these emotions, and the same goes with when Akari feels anything negative.
Usugo feels as though every smile he's lost, and every tear he's had forced on to him, is something stolen, and resents his sister to an incredible degree. Akari, unable to feel guilt or regret, only continues to bombard Usugo with gifts, affection, and love every chance she gets. Deshai has done her best to keep the two separate, but with how distant Usugo stays from everyone it's hard for her to keep a real eye on him.

Relationship Reasoning

Akari and Usugo since birth have been more bonded than any other creature to ever exist. The two gods were fraternal twins, born from the god of life and the goddess of death. There are no other creatures like them, as they are the only known instance of the gods having biological children. Many argue that they aren't gods, and that they're something different. Their circumstance of birth has magically affected them in such a way that they're emotionally linked.

History

Oniron was originally created with the purpose of accompanying Akari in her ventures. Though in time that relationship changed as they gained new roles or duties in the world, they both still are incredibly close. They spend as much time as they can share together. Akari holds a number of mannerisms that Oniron historically had before she was ever recorded as using them, and Oniron's mentality about basically everything is clearly affected by her aura of positivity, despite honesty being a part of his portfolio.
