Shi'para, goddess of Stealing, Lying, and Cheating, is the unparalleled mistress of getting exactly what she wants. If there is ever an item she covets, a plan she has, or a game to be won, she will ensure that absolutely anything and everything necessary to make that happen goes exactly as she needs. Contrary to her domain, Shi'para leaves nothing she can influence to chance. She will go so far as to orchestrate many-layered plans between powers, peoples, and levels of government spanning the whole of both spheres of Argent simply to get her hands on a single precious stone or magical artifact, simply because the desire struck her or she wished to relish the challenge. Of course, these schemes often involve huge numbers of intermediates, pawns, patsies, and spies, and being the tool of Shi'para grants absolutely no immunity from taking the fall if it gets her what she wants.
Thieves, politicians, gamblers, and royalty all scheme for one reason or another, and Shi'para is there to accept their adulation and praise. Not that that will stop her from leaving them holding the bag when their plans go completely awry through their own failure or the necessity of a greater plan. The whole of the criminal underworld ties in some fashion, through some connection, back to the Mistress of Lies; and not even the highest lord is beyond sacrificing for someone whose control over mortals extends as far as Shi'para's.

The holy Symbol of Shi'para is a gem or other valuable fixture clutched in the legs of some form of arachnid. Only the legs are ever visible, but there are always eight of them. The gem need not be real, as the symbology of objects of theft are just as easily replaced by the lies of the item's false value.

Personal history

Shi'para has always been a part of the goings-on in Argent, though never so much in the foreground that her presence would cause any of the other gods concern. She has always been necessary, to a degree. When Facit was asked to take up residence in The Source, he needed to be unaware that it would mean being robbed of his freedom for all eternity. When Shiwa kept the minor detail of Usugo's fate from her discussions with Deshai, she was needed. She acts in the background, as one given to trickery does, though whether her actions are for a purpose or merely to fill the responsibilities of her domain are unknown to perhaps all except herself and Shiwa.
