The Tannenbaum Academy
The great settlement of Harna City is home to an educational facility known as The Tannenbaum Academy, owned and maintained by retired adventurer Arthur Danaerian Tannenbaum. Set apart from its neighbours, a large estate overlooks a well-maintained property just outside of town, with sturdy walls surrounding. Contained within are sandpits for practicing, and a field for sport. The inside the estate are several classrooms, as well as lodging for students and offices for teachers. The manor and surrounding grounds are home to approximately a dozen educators and one hundred students at a time.
The Academy is famed for three things. The first is providing a particular type of education: one focused on a merging of spell-craft and martial prowess. Numerous Bladesingers, Eldritch Knights, Arcane Archers, Bards of the College of Swords, Titans, Paladins, and Rangers have graduated from the hallowed halls of The Academy, going on to live lives of adventure.
The second is its enrolment. Most students must pay for their education, like anywhere else. Ten percent of the student body, however, is enrolled on scholarship, with their continued education dependent on their ability to impress the professors. In this way, the school offers opportunities to students from all walks of life.
The final thing is it's branch entirely dedicated to craftsmanship. Tannenbaum Academy is the only school on either shell that publicly shares the secrets of runesmithing, and that is willing to teach it. While other schools have attempted to compete since it's founding, the lacking of Grandmaster Runesmiths in the world makes this particularly difficult.
