Ceremony of the White Moon
The ceremony of the White Moon is one of the most important ceremonies for the worshippers of Thrae, the Founder of Air.
The White Moon is seen as a representation of Thrae watching over the Peoples, and guiding their journeys with its bright light.
Ceremonies start with the local priest(s) preparing the offerings that will be given during the ceremony. They will then begin wandering through the settlement, playing a ceremonial horn instrument known as the baghorn, calling on all followers to join in on the march.
As more and more followers join, the group begins to march towards the most prominent shrine of Thrae in the settlement. Here the first sacrifice is made by the priest, followed by the lighting of aromatic herbs carried in centers. The priest will then lead in a prayer, as the voices of the followers join in a chant that is carried on the wind.
The journey then continues, starting from the shrine that represents birth to the shrine that represents death. Passing by every other shrine in the settlement along the way. As such, the ceremony takes longer the larger a settlement is. At every shrine, the priest will make an offering and share a prayer.
