Kobolds

A race of small draconic creatures, reminiscent of goblinoids. They are nonmagical creatures from nature, and they are believed to originate from lizards that were exposed to areas with high concentrations of elemental energy.
They are quite intelligent and usually live in tribes. Members of these tribes usually have the same base color scales.
Most have a strong dislike towards outsiders, even other kobolds. But they are rather fond of dragons and Dragonborn. Especially those with the same or similar color scales.
They are unrelated to dragons or Dragonborn, instead being more similar to lizards, but claim that they are.
Kobolds are known as kleptomaniacs, and often cause trouble due to this. They instinctively create hoards of objects and materials they consider valuable, and will create elaborate traps to protect them. Kobold tribes in close proximity to each other have been known to start trap wars, where both sides create increasingly elaborate traps to keep the other out, while not actually attempting to steal the other's hoards.
