Ran'efete, Lord of Journeys
Lord of Journeys Ran'efete (a.k.a. Ranté)
Ran'efete, also known as Ranté by those not fluent in Elvish, is a minor Elven deity, worshipped as the lord of journeys. Ran'efete is often depicted as male, but because of the loose connection between his followers, he is sometimes depicted as female.
His priests and clerics are always traveling, and as such, most of his following consists of Elves and Halfelves. It is common to find small shrines dedicated to Ran'efete along major roads and by ports.
Besides being the lord of journeys, Ran'efete is commonly seen as a god of death. This is because many believe that after death, a soul has to go on a long journey to the afterlife. As such, travelers will pray to Ran'efete and request that their next journey should not be their last.
It is debated among believers if Ran'efete is an aspect of Ixen, with death being a part of justice, or an aspect of Thrae, reflecting the journeys. Others argue that Ran'efete is a completely separate entity in his own right, unrelated to the Founding Dragons.
